MSPM0G3507: HFXT watchdog

Hello, 

I have questions about HFXT. On my board I have 16Mhz external crystal connected to HFXIN and HFCLK pin (PA5 and PA6) VSSOP-28.

I would like to know if there is a watchdog that monitors that the oscillator is working. In case the external oscillator stopped and the internal oscillator started.

Is there a bit that controls this ?

    Hi Jan,

    We provide the WWDT and FCC to monitor oscillator. 

    While if the oscillator suddenly stuck, which means the CPUCLK (MCLK) is lost. Then the WDT in the MSPM0G3507 can not detect it by WDT.

    -> Reason: The WDT in G3507 is not an independent WDT, so it requires MCLK for sync.

    This can be achieved by the IWDT, which is supported in MSPM0LX22X and MSPM0GX51X series device. 

    -> There also requires a reset to recover.
