AM2432: External Calibration Resistor for SERDES

Hi,

My customer has a question about the circuit design with AM2432.

There is the following description for SERDES0_REXT signal at the Table 5-68. SERDES0 Signal Descriptions in the AM243x Datasheet,

(1) An external 3.01 k ohm ±1% resistor must be connected between this pin and VSS.

Is it possible to change this resistance value to 3K ohm +/- 1%?

Please let them know if there is any impact of 3K Ω +/-1%.

Thank you for the query.

In the customer use case, is the SERDES0 being configured for one of the 2 use case.

If yes, 3.01 k ohm ±1% is recommended since this recommendation came from the IP vendor.

Could you explain the above in detail ? Does it mean that SERDES0 is configured to be used for 2 ports ?

If customer is configuring the SERDES0 for PCIE interface or USB3 interface, 3.01 k ohm ±1% is recommended.
