Tool/software:
Dear TI Support Team,
I’m working with the AM263P4 and the Real-Time Debug feature, but I’ve encountered a significant issue with the documentation. The guide Real Time Debug (link) is still based on the old Eclipse environment, while the current CCS20 setup has moved to VS Code.
The problem is that the differences between Eclipse and VS Code are not just cosmetic—debugging workflows, configurations, and paradigms have changed significantly. As a result, this outdated guide is almost useless for someone trying to set up Real-Time Debug in the current environment.
For anyone new to AM263P4, this creates a frustrating experience. Instead of making it easier to get started, the documentation ends up being a major roadblock. Given that the guide is hosted online and can be updated, do you have any plans to revise it to reflect the new VS Code environment? A proper update would make a huge difference for developers adopting your platform.
Looking forward to your response.
Best regards,
Jiri
Hi Jiri,
Apologies you had to face this.
MCU PLUS SDK will start supporting the ccs theia by End of Q2 2025.
As you mentioned it is not just a cosmetic update, on our side we are working on porting the existing infrastructure from CCS eclipse to CCS theia.
Once the support is avilaible you will see in the release note under list of supported tools:
For now I will urge you to continue to use CCS eclipse for development.
Once CCS theia support comes, we will ensure a smooth migration to new ccs version.
Hope it helps.
