MSPM0G3507: what is the MAX eRPM when use MSPM0G3507+FOC

Part Number: MSPM0G3507

Tool/software:

We are designing a motor driven product with a maximum speed >= 350K eRPM ,Can this speed be achieved using MSPM0G3507+FOC?

  • Hi Nan,

Actually the 350K eRPM will be a challenge for the M0G to process. The 350K erpm represents 5.83K eHz of the motor.

Usually we requires at least 5-10x of the control loop frequency (compared to the motor e-speed) to achieve a good control performance.

For M0G+FOC, we normally think 16KHz of control loop could achieve, that will be a proper for less than 1-3K Hz motor max e-speed.

By the way, what is your current platform for that high speed motor control?

  • Currently, we use the M4(120MHZ)+PWM,but we need higher control accuracy and efficiency.need to maintain stable speed in the shortest possible time when the load changes sharply.

  • Hi Nan,

    Yes, agree with you.

Currently the option from TI side will be C2000 device.

Our next gen of MSP could also meet yout requirement, please contact TI regional sales team if you are interested in ARM platform. That is NDA information.

  • We evaluated the 28027F+FOC in 2016 and were satisfied with the control accuracy and starting effect, but at that time the maximum speed could only reach 170KeRPM.

Which C2000+FOC can reach 350KeRPM now?

  • Hi Nan,

Sorry, I am not the expert on C2000 device.

I recommend you file a new thread in C2000 forum.
