MSPM0G3507: How to enable saving of compile log

How can you automatically save the build/compile output that goes to the "output" window? Not manually - automatically. I searched high and low for a log file or a setting to enable one and could not find it. I need to programmatically rename the hex file that is output using build configuration information so I need to get at strings that are spit out during preprocessor macro parsing.

or how can I modify compile command to post pend "| tee > file_name"

Hi Chris,

I'm going to pitch this thread over to our compiler and IDE experts to help address this, but I didn't see a way to do this in the IDE itself. You should be able to either adjust the CLI compiler call or create a batch script to run the compilation then do an rename and append on the .out.

You didn't mention what CCS you are using but I assume you are using CCS 20. Unfortunately CCS 20 does not have a similar feature. I suppose one crude workaround would be to use the CLI project build command and pipe the output to a file.

Obviously not as friendly as what we had in CCS Eclipse. We can look to adding that functionality back in a future release.

thanks, yes, saving the build output is usually a good idea when you release code to production so you have a "audit trail" in the event you later need to go back an figure out what went wrong with the build.
