TMS570LC4357: SCI1 garbled code problem

Part Number: TMS570LC4357

Tool/software:

Dear TI Teams

I'm having a problem with SCI garbling.

1. The clock is set as follows, No messy codes

2. When I set the clock again as follows, the serial port generates garbled code.

3. Screenshots of the garbled code are as follows

What are the causes of the above problems?

Something to do with HCLK?

Please help to analyze the problem, thank you very much, looking forward to your reply!

  • In addition, please ask the MCU in the run-time registers to modify the clock frequency of the GCLK will lead to other clock domain frequency will follow the change, such as VCLK1 changes will lead to SCI and SPI interfaces such as problems, please ask how to avoid this situation!

When the HAL CODE GENERATOR software modifies the main frequency of the CPU, the divider value of the interface changes by itself when other clock domains are changed.

Do I need to change the crossover value of each interface by myself to change the CPU main frequency in MCU runtime through a function?

  • Dear TI Teams

Can you answer as soon as possible?

  • Hi Sam,

The reason for unlocking this thread is that it is not closed properly from TI side, so i unlocked it again.

    Apologies for the incontinence.

Are you still stuck with this issue, if yes then please let me know exactly where you stuck with this now.

  • Hi Gundavarapu

Yes, I'm still a little confused about this.

  • Hi Sam,

Are you still getting this kind of output on serial terminal:

If you use the below clock settings?

If this is true, then, if possible, share your complete project for quick debugging from my end.
