SAFETI_CQKIT: Clarifications needed on the C28 Safety compiler qualification kit TQP document

Part Number: SAFETI_CQKIT

Tool/software:

Hey SafeTI Team,

I have a customer working with the Safety compiler qualification kit (SAFETI_CQKIT) for a project and we were hoping you could help to clarify some of our questions from the TQP (Tool Qualification Plan) template in that kit. Please see a summary of our questions below!

We are trying to fill out the "Tool Qualification Plan for TI C/C++ Compiler",
but we have some questions. (Validation-based qualification is expected to be performed)

What does “component” in “3.5.1 Use Case Definitions” refer to? Is there an example of how to fill this out?

For example, assume we have a c28x project, and there are 3 projects for each CPU.
Should I fill in the project name?

Section 3.5.4 says that we need to submit the coverage files to TI.
Who should we send this to?
And how long does it take to get the comparison result?

We would like to know how this qualification process works in order to prepare early.

  • What does “component” in “3.5.1 Use Case Definitions” refer to?

Whatever term the customer uses to refer to the code that is compiled and linked to form the final executable.

For example, assume we have a c28x project, and there are 3 projects for each CPU.
Should I fill in the project name?

    That's reasonable.

Section 3.5.4 says that we need to submit the coverage files to TI.
Who should we send this to?

When you visit the Safety Compiler Qualification Kit page, then click on Download options for the C2000 kit, you see something similar to the following ...

The circled document describes how to create the coverage files and where to send them.

how long does it take to get the comparison result?

    Usually a few days.

    Thanks and regards,

    -George

  • Thank you for the detailed reply George!

I've passed this feedback along to the customer and will have them comment back on this thread directly with any follow-up questions they may have.
