Hi Alessandro,
Just tested. There is no problem to show the variable value in watch windows. I am using IAR workbench 6.21.1 (free version).
1. Can you erase the flash correctly using XDS100 under IAR IDE? Just to make sure your tool configuration is correct.
2. If yes, can you program the RM48x sample blinky project to the flash and see the blinky LED (after programming and reset)?
3. After you change the variable value, please re-compile project, re-load the code to memory to check the new value.

Hi QJ,
I see that all values into registrations is changed, only variable values didn't change in the watch window.
I saw my XDS100 configuration and when I clear the "user flash loader(s)" box and chose the "attach the program", the changed values can be see, but I can't save the new software version in memory.
What's the right configuration in the Debugger tab? Or have other configuration to see?
tks,
Alessandro
Hi Alessandro,
I have the same problem with the variable values. Can you please report this bug to IAR? I will submit a ticket to IAR too. Thanks
Regards,
QJ
QJ,
I reported this problem. They told me this problem is interface XDS100 working with IAR. That this problem don't happen with the JTAG interface (the problem is our kit haven't this connector....).
Anyway, now I compile and save my program by "User flash loader(s)" and after change this configuration to "Attach ro program".
While don't solve this problem, lets this way.
If I have news, I will post here.
Alessandro
Dear all,
the above described issue of IAR debugger with XDS100 interface has been fixed in the release/version: 6.40.2 (IAR EWARM)
I am not sure whether this version can be already downloaded from IAR website. I was forwarded by IAR support to some FTP server - thanks for that!
