LP-AM243: use Port0 with ICSS and the other port as CPSW?

Hi,

Is it possible to use one port on the Launchpad board as ICSS and the other port as CPSW?

We would like to run the EtherCat example: “extercat_slave_cia401_demo_am243x_lp_r5fss0-0_freertos” on one CPU with one port,

and the example “enet_cpsw_typServer…” on the other CPU with the other port.

I think the problem is in the Sysconfig either only TI Industrial Comms or only TI Networking can be configured, depending on which SDK is selected!

Not together. How can I do that?

Assuming you want to run enet-lld base ethernet on CPSW + icss-emac based Ethercat in parallel.

This is not supported in our current SDK offering.

Can you try icss-emac based Ethernet + EtherCAT ?

Can you help me with your use case?

R5F_0_1 running 100M Ethernet + R5F_0_0 running EtherCAT ?

Are you specific to use AM243x-LP board or looking to evaluate SoC capability?

Hi Ashwani,

my use case is exactly the other way around:

R5F_0_0 running 100M Ethernet + R5F_0_1 running EtherCAT

The EtherCat_CIA_401 example is currently running on the R5F_0_1.

FreeRTOS is already running on the R5F_0_0. I want to establish a connection to a host computer via LWIP.

Background: I'm already exchanging PDO data between the CPUs (R5F_0<>_1) via SHM.

I can view the data via the console. I want to use our existing Windows app to make this PDO data visible via a TCP connection.

Then, I would suggest you to go ahead with icss-emac (not enet-lld) based Ethernet and EtherCAT.

Sounds like it's going to be very difficult.

I could possibly implement my use case on the EVM board if it's easier.

Ashwani GoelI do not think this is an option while running EtherCAT as ICSSG is used by EtherCAT Device. Better option is to configure pinmux such a way that CPSW accesses one port from R5F_0_0 and EtherCAT running on ICSSG accesses other port from R5F_1_1

PratheeshGangadhar followup question for you: Is there a specific reason you are suggesting using R5F_0_0 and R5F_1_1 here, instead of R5F0_0 & R5F0_1?

No specific reason, this option shall also work. Just that R5F_0_0 and R5F_1_1 might offer more TCM in AM2432 like config IIUC.
