TMDSEMU200-U: Dead on Arrival what additional testing can I do with Avoiding its Warrany

Part Number: TMDSEMU200-U
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UNIFLASH,

Tool/software:

Bought a TMDSEMU200-U a month ago and just had some time today to test it out, but when I went ahead and attempted to connect to Uniflash to double check that it gets recognized the emulator didnt show up on the application nor was it reconjoined in my Computer's Device Manager. LED's lights on the Emulator does not light up.

  • With the Texas order No. T05543770, we purchased the PN TMDSEMU200-U.
The device is not working, even comparing it with an identical one that we have had for some time.
We need to have the new device up and running quickly.
I ask what we can do: is it possible to make a replacement under warranty? Or refund the money

TI opened the case CS2737153 created by Archie

This emulator was connected to our device (It is a system for carrying out acceptance tests) and gave no sign of life. We have another identical one that works correctly, in the same application.
I am very disappointed with this service approach; we bought and paid for something that doesn't work, and we only receive emails that bounce from one side to the other, without providing solutions

We kindly ask for a new part or for a refund.

  • Jorge,

My apologies for your experience. When applying power to the TMDSEMU200-U, none of the LEDs on the device illuminate?

    Regards,

    Brennan

  • HI Brenan,

Correct usually I would see a green LED be illuminated once connected to my PC.

I do see this with a previous a previous TMDSEMU200-U that we utilize in one of our production cells.

    Thanks for your response,

    Jorge Jurado-Garcia

  • Jorge,

Understood. Have you tried this using a different PC/cable?

    Regards,

    Brennan

  • Hi Brennan,

Went ahead and tried a new cable and PC and it still did not see any indication of Life. Here are the following situations that I tested.

    1. New Cable w/ Different PC

    2. Previous Cable w/ Different PC

    3. New Cable w/ Same PC

    4. Previous Cable w/ Same PC

I also had our IT check our drivers and it according to them to was good. I also tested a previous TMDSEMU200-U from our production facility and that does show indication of life for all situations that I outlined above.

How should we proceed with getting a replacement TMDSEMU200-U.

    Thanks for your cooperation,

    Jorge Jurado-Garcia

  • Jorge,

Thanks for sharing the details of your testing to conclude the TMDSEMU200-U probe is faulty, based on that I can confirm there does seem to be an issue with this probe and it would be eligible for a replacement.

Please share this E2E post on your support ticket CS2737153 as proof from TI engineering that your claim for a replacement is valid.

    Regards,

    Brennan

  • Hi Brennan,

Thanks for helping me in debugging and resolving this issue. I have shared this E2E post on the support ticket as proof for my replacement claim. Just waiting for archie to respond to my email.

    Thanks,

    Jorge
