I encountered an issue while working in compare mode of TimA CTRCTL. In reference manual values of CAC, CZC, CLC fields are set to 7, which is not explained in description that suggests that max value is 5. It also appears to work while CAC is set to 0. What value should be inserted in CAC, CZC, CLC while working in compare mode?

Yes, CAC/CLC/CZC all reset to =7, which is invalid [I found this odd as well], so they need to be set to Something.

To make a timer, the idea is to (a) set CAC=0 to point to CCCTL_01[0].ACOND (b) set CCCTL_01[0].ACOND=0 so TIMCLK triggers CTR to count.

I haven't had much interest (so far) in CLC/CZC, so I set them =0 to point to CCCTL_01[0].LCOND/.ZCOND. Those fields reset to =0 (no action), so the effect is to not use them at all.

Thank you for an answer, but documentation also lacks clear explanation of what happens when ZCOND/LCOND=0. Did you find part of documentation to assume 0 means no action or is it an educated guess?

ZCOND/LCOND are described in TRM (SLAU846B) Table 27-73.
