Thank you for the query.
The VBUS is used as part of the USB interface.
VBUS is connected through a divider as per the data sheet for the device.
For host, this is optional.

Are you able to share the use case for me to check. As i understand, the VBUS IO does not monitor the VBUS when configured as host.
A USB power switch with OC indication is recommended to be used. This pin can be connected to any of the SOC IO to detect USB VBUS fault.
