AM263P4: Debug Process

Hello,

I am currently working with AM263P4 on custom board. I want to debug my code but software breakpoints and "DebugP_log" function is not working because UART pins is not connected on my board.

As an example, I put breakpoints for "Drivers_open()" function but I did not even debug from that point. I have so many API folders and there is so many function inside of them as you know. Therefore, I have to follow or check value of a few datas inside of a function.

How can I debug my code?

Hi BK,

Have you tried using CCS hardware breakpoints? Right click on the line you wish to push the breakpoint and select hardware breakpoint

I thought that when I click the line for breakpoint, I was using the hardware breakpoint... That was so helpfull and fast.

Hi BK,

Default breakpoint added is SW breakpoint (by double clicking the line or through the breakpoint window. I'm not sure if we can change the default property.

For easy understanding, In terms of CCS, "breakpoint" means SW breakpoint, and "hardware breakpoint" means actual hardware breakpoint which you can use in absence of UART.
