AM2632-Q1: CONTROLLER PART SUITABILITY FOR RAILWAY APPLICATION

Hello TI Expert,

We are currently developing a railway transmission system that requires components to comply with SIL4 (Safety Integrity Level 4) standards as defined under IEC 61508 for functional safety. We are specifically looking for a Controller part that meets the Railway application.

We have checked controller parts as per design features requirement and found below two parts seems suitable so we need your suggestion to finalized controller part as per the railway application suitability.

1. AM263x Sitara Series

MPN:- AM2632COKFHMZCZRQ1

2. AM263Px Sitara Series

MPN:- AM263P2ACOLFZCZR

Query:- We have checked for this AM263Px series, And it written like functional safety certification (SIL-3, IEC 61508, ASIL-D, ISO 26262 etc) are targeted/planned so what is status of this compliance and when it will be completed?

So please check and suggest which one is more suitable and compatible part from these two above parts as per the railway application at this stage?

    Hi Hemal,

    AM263Px is a successor part for AM263x with higher RAM size and OSPI controller which supports XIP.

    It is already in progress, will be completed by end of Q2 2025.
