AM263P4-Q1: HW Accelerator

Hi,

Currently, there are two part numbers available for AM263P4-Q1 (AM263P4ACOKFZCZRQ1 and AM263P4ASOKFZCZRQ1). According to table 9-1 Nomenclature Description in datasheet, both part numbers will be missing HW Accelerator. What is HW accelerator? Is it only contain CRC and Checksum? Or it contains the Crypto Accelerator (AES, PKA, SHA/MD5) accelerator?

I want to know, what would be the impact to secure boot procedure if HW accelerator feature is not available? Software needs to completely perform the hashing and decryption algorithms?

    Hi Pouya,

    The HW Accelerator mentioned there is one specifically for the EtherCAT communication protocol. All other Hardware Accelerators are present on all AM263P including all the ones associated with the security / crypto modules.
