does Jlink v8 support LM4F ?

Hi  everyone

I am now study LM4F and want to do a development board. But I am not sure does  jlink v8 our ulink support LM4F?

TI's evaluate board using ICDI debug interface, but I don't think tit is good choice , I want to use general arm jtag emulator .

I find LM4F has not TRST(Target Reset) pin (and LM3S has this pin); I don't know if I can omit TRST

thanks

  • Hi back,

We also use IAR 6.3 (paid) and J-Link v8 - works fine with 4F232H5QD (144 pin) Eval Board as well as (157 pin) similar Eval Board "and" with our custom pcb using smaller, 64 pin M4F Stellaris MCU.

Schematic for TI's Eval board shows TRST (@ the JTAG header - we use 10 pin "mini") tied directly to MCU's Reset pin.  We did same with our custom board - appears to work fine.  Note that we pull up MCU's reset and tie a 0.1uF cap to ground.

We've also tried J-Link v6 - also works but produces annoying "squawk" - warning of some slow-down - we've not observed that.
