Hi,

RTC supports clock calibration for clock frequency offset and temperature compensation corrections. Is there any application note or analysis data available on how to perform the clock calibration and the time interval requirement to achieve ±1 second or ±2 seconds per day clock deviation with an external/internal clock source using the internal RTC peripheral in the MSPM0P microcontroller family?

Hi Prakash,

Unfortunately there is no application note here.

It is not automatically calibrated. User should know the error on RTC clock, then using the calibration register to adjust the clock to compensate the offset here.

Thanks for the response.

I agree, TRM is mentioning like the calibration must be handled by software.

But is there any recommendation available from TI on the interval between each calibration process in software.

Hi Prakash,

It depends on your application requirements.

There is no limitarion to update the calibration register defined in RTC.
