Hi,

I am using AM2432 with Profinet from the Industrial SDK 09.02.00.24.

Is it possible to get the link status of the Ethernet PHYs? I am currently using custom drivers CUST_PHY_DP83826E and CUST_PHY_TJA1101.

Hi Andrea,

You can refer to the AM243x Technical Reference Manual (TRM). Within the section 6.4.14.10, which lists the MDIO registers. You can check the "MDIO_ALIVE_REG" and "MDIO_LINK_REG" to retrieve the link status of the Ethernet PHY's, corresponding to the PHY address.

thank you for your answer.

I confirm that it works. However I read from this thread that the addresses to read are 0x3001FF08 and 0x3001FF0C (and indeed using these works), while on the TRM instead are 3003 2408h and 3003 240Ch (and it seems that these do not work). Why there this difference?

Hi Andrea,

Missed to mention this previously, the MDIO registers as mentioned in TRM have few issues due to HW errata. Hence the MDIO register space is emulated and stored in a different location, as mentioned in the below table. Hence it is required to check these offsets instead of the ones mentioned in TRM.
