AM2631: Combining EtherCAT demo to project using MCU+ SDK

Part Number: AM2631

Tool/software:

Hi Experts,

My customer has developed their app based on MCU+ SDK, and they want to add EtherCAT to their app.

However, the syscfg using industrial comm sdk seems not compatible with the one using MCU+ SDK.

The syscfg in the EtherCAT demo has a "EtherCAT" tab which don't exist in the MCU+ syscfg

We tried adding industrial comm sdk to the MCU+ based project in project properties, but their would be redefinition conflict.

We also tried adding  industrial comm sdk and removes the MCU+ sdk in project properties, But there would be below error

How to add EtherCAT to an MCU+ sdk based project? There are many works done using the MCU+ SDK already, therefore they cannot re-do their work based on the industrial comm SDK.

Regards,

Hang.

  • Industrial comm SDK version is 9.2.0.13

    MCU+ SDK version is 10.1.0.31

CCS version is 20.0.2 or 12.7.1

  • Hi Hang,

Could you please clarify why the customer is not developing their EtherCAT SubDevice application using the latest Industrial Communications SDK? Is it because Industrial Communications SDK v10.1 is not yet available for AM263x?

I have not yet tried adding the Industrial Communications SysCfg module to an MCU+ SDK project, so I will need to check internally on the level of effort required to do so. However, this approach is not recommended, as it is currently untested and unsupported. If the customer encounters issues following this method, we would not be able to reproduce or support such scenarios from our side.

Would the customer be able to proceed if we provide them with the AM263x Industrial Communications SDK v10.1 EA (Early Access) Release, which will include the appropriate MCU+ SDK version?

    Regards,
    Aaron
