AM2612: Safety-related certification

Part Number: AM2612

Tool/software:

Sir/Madam,

looking to employee the AM2612 in a new design I am working on.

We've been using the Hercules for years, and now are looking to move to a higher end processor capable of running both bare metal or an OS.

The AM2612 looks extremely interesting.

I see this in the datasheet:

Functional Safety-Compliant targeted [Automotive] – Developed for functional safety applications – Documentation to be made available to aid ISO 26262 functional safety system design – Systematic capability up to ASIL-D targeted – Hardware integrity up to ASIL-D targeted – Safety-related certification

is any of this paperwork/certs available?....

I know I have the Hercules safety cert document.

Please let me know.  Guessing that all this is "planned" and hasnt been actually executed at this time....but knowing that would help me create a safety case for using this processor.

again, we are designing circuitry for automotive apps which our customer needs "proof/cert/info" for us to create the safety case for our system.

as usual, thank you very very much for this forum.  it is extremely helpful

  • Hello,

    Thank you for your query.

Not yet, this is in progress. The initial draft versions of the documentation would be available by early next month. You can reach out to the TI representative from Sales to obtain a copy under NDA. The official certification/ paperwork would be available in August timeframe as per our estimate.

Meanwhile, you can also refer to the AM263P documentation (which would be released in about 2 weeks), it would be quite similar to the AM261 docs as the devices are identical in most features.

    Regards,

    Sahana
