Hi experts,

We would like to connect two different EnDat encoders to the controller, which differ in singleturn and multiturn resolution.

Although both encoders are initialized correctly and the resolution can be read out correctly, there seems to be a bug in the driver interface.

The driver interface only stores the position resolution of the most recently initialized encoder, which is then used in endat_recvd_process() for all encoders. Therefore, the received position bytes are misinterpreted for all encoders except the most recent one.

It would be great if you could check on this issue. Let me know if you need additional information about my setup!

Which Motor Control SDK version are you using? Which example are you using? If possible, can you share the example.syscfg file, in case you have modified?

Hi,

I am using motor control sdk 09.02.00.09, and the endat_diagnostic_multi_channel_load_share_am243x-lp_r5fss0-0_freertos_ti-arm-clang example on the launchpad.

I have not modified the sysconfig.

Hi Stefan,

Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. I've checked the problem and found that the endat_recvd_process function is not properly handling the case when different types of encoders are connected.

We have identified and fixed the issue. The fix will be available in the next SDK release, which is planned for the end of this month.
