TMDS273EVM: TMDS273EVM

Part Number: TMDS273EVM

Tool/software:

Hello, I purchased two TMDS273EVM boards from your official website in March. Recently, I opened one of them and found that the U9 component was missing. Please refer to the attached pictures for details. I believe this is a quality issue. I would like to return or exchange the product. Could you please help me verify this? Thank you.

  • Hi,

Thanks for reaching out and please accept my apologies for receiving a board without U9 soldered down.

If you would like to return or exchange the board, please reach out to the TI Customer Support team on this site:  https://www.ti.com/info/customer-support.html  Please let them know that you received a faulty board and would like to return/exchange it.  You can reference this E2E post in the ticket as evidence of the problem with the board.

Also, U9 on the TMDS273EVM is an INA226AIDGSR current sensor device that is connected to the AM273 device via I2C and measures the current on the 1.2V VDD rail.  The EVM will be fully operational without this device, other than the missing current sensor will obviously not be functional.  All of the AM273 peripherals and application level solutions provided in the SDK will still be functional on the EVM without U9.

Alternatively, if you need the current measurement on the 1.2V VDD rail feature and you have the tools/skills to solder down the U9 device yourself, you can request a sample of the INA226AIDGSR device from https://www.ti.com/product/ina226.  This might be faster/simpler than trying to go through the refund/exchange process, so I wanted to present it as an alternative option.

Any of the above three options are good choices, so please proceed with whatever your preference is.

    Thanks,
    Mike
