Hi TI Experts,

Customer plans to use AM2434 run Profinet IRT Stack via MII interface.

Customer wants to know whether or not the following signals will be occupied by Profinet IRT Stack?

COL (e.g. corresponding to DP83822 Pin 29)
CRS/CRS_DV (e.g. corresponding to DP83822 Pin 27)

The reason to ask this question is that, the GPIO resource in AM2434 PRU is not sufficient. Hence, if the above signals will not be occupied by Profinet IRT Stack then customer will configure the corresponding pins as GPIO.

As customer needs to know this information before drawing the PCB schematic, could you help double check this and feedback to us as soon as possible please?

Hi Kevin,

after checking, the above mentioned signals are not utilized by Profinet stack. The customer can verify this by looking into the sysconfig file provided with Profinet example.

Our stack uses the ICSSG1 instance, MII interface, and by default DP83869 PHY.

is the customer using our EVM? Does the customer have the same settings I mentioned?
