AM2632-Q1: AM2632CPDFHMZCZRQ1

Part Number: AM2632-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AM2632, DLP2021AM263Q1EVM

Tool/software:

we have a new project, now use DLP controller AM2632 and DMD DLP 2021. I have some questions as below: 1、The AM2632 DEMO uses power monitoring of 5V, 3.3V, and 1.2V, along with OR gates/AND gates to control the power-on sequence of the power supply. In the actual development project, is this necessary? Can it be streamlined and only use one 1.2V power supply to reset the AM6232 PORz? 2、On the AM2632 DEMO, a power monitoring device TPS3840DL47DBVRQ1 is also used to monitor 5V (Brownout_RST) and collect data before power failure. Is this necessary? 3、The AM2632 DEMO 1.2V 3.3V power filter capacitor uses 3.3uF/25V/0603. Should this capacitor be replaced with the commonly used capacity of 4.7uF/25V/0603? Are there any special requirements

  • Hello,

The AM2632 DEMO uses power monitoring of 5V, 3.3V, and 1.2V, along with OR gates/AND gates to control the power-on sequence of the power supply. In the actual development project, is this necessary? Can it be streamlined and only use one 1.2V power supply to reset the AM6232 PORz?

Please refer to the section " Power-On and Reset Sequencing" in the AM263 Datasheet (AM263x SitaraTm Microcontrollers datasheet (Rev. D)). Both 1.2V and 3.3V need to be at their expected levels before de-asserting POR.

Let me assign to the DLP demo team, to confirm the specifics on 2 and 3.

    Regards,

    Sahana

  • Hello kerwin ji,
    Thank you for your patience.
    For questions 2. and 3. :-

The Power sequencing block schematic for DLP2021AM263Q1EVM.

    2. You can bypass the power monitoring device, though you need to follow up the power-up sequencing and ensure that the voltages are coming at the right time based on the power on sequence timing requirements:

Since bypassing the TPS3840DL47DBVRQ1 altogether, please take care of the gate propagation delays associated with it (which can be obtained from its datasheet) and check if the final timing still that satisfies with what is mentioned in the AM263 Datasheet.

  • 3. I believe changing the capacitor should not create a problem, but I would recommend simulating and doing tests for repeatability.
(The capacitors are used as part of power supply decoupling network, to maintain power stability and reduce noise coupling from power supply).

You can refer the below table (from the datasheet):
which mentions the typical values for these Capacitors.
