LP-MSPM0G3507: Calculate Bemf constant manually

Part Number: LP-MSPM0G3507

Tool/software:

Hello TI,

In the Tuning manual i can see the following formula to calculate Bemf Constant: Ke = Ep * Tp / 3

Ep: is peak phase to phase voltage.

Tp: is period time of the Phase to Phase signal.

My question is this formula affected anyhow by number of poles? or i should take the result, multiply it by 10 and add it as system parameter directly in the SDK example Sensor less PMSM  FOC system parameters?

Thanks,

  • Hi,

Let me check with our motor driver expert on this topic.

  • Hi Shehab,

No, it won't impacted by pole pairs. The reason is that the detected Ke has already been transferred to electrical Ke, not the mechanical value.

And, multiply it by 10 is just for the accuracy, sometimes the Ke is quite smaller, we process it with 10 times. The "10 times" has no physical meanings here.
