AM263P4-Q1: LDO2 Configuration

Part Number: AM263P4-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SYSCONFIG

Tool/software:

Hello,

I am trying to route a multiplexed PWM signal to the HSEC header on the AM263P EVM. In order to do this, the signal needs to go through the onboard SN74CB3Q3257PWR chip. However, the  VSYS_3V3_LDO2 rail does not appear to be powered. LD22 is also not lighting up, meaning that for some reason, LDO2 is not configured. Is there a configuration setting for this? According to the datasheet, this power rail should be configured on startup.

  • Hi Scott,

    The LD22 should be on and VSYS_3V3_LDO2 should be powered by the PMIC under all normal conditions. If possible, can you please probe once the voltage on TP10(test point corresponding to VSYS_3V3_LDO2 voltage rail) and see if you read 3.3V?

    Thanks,

    Tejas Kulakarni

  • Hello,

    Thank you for the reply. I have probed the following test points corresponding to the various PMIC rails:

    TP5 = 6v
    TP6 = 3.3v
    TP10 = 0v
    TP19 = 0v
    TP20 = 0v
    PLDO1 = 0v
    PLDO2 = 0v

    The only LED that is on is LD3, corresponding to the LDO1 rail. LD20, LD21 and LD22 are not on during startup. While this is not expected, it is in agreement with the screenshot on page 5 of the quick start guide, where the only LED that is on is LD3. I am not sure if this is related, but during startup, LD19 flashes and then turns off. LD8 is also permanently on, signifying a "PMIC_SAFETY_ERROR" according to the schematics.

  • Hello again,

    I apologize for the follow-up. I just ran a different example on the card, and now the LEDs are lighting up. I will investigate further and mark the issue as resolved if it ended up just being a configuration error on my part.

    Thanks,

    Scott

  • Hi Scott,

    No problem. Please do feel free to raise another e2e if you face any other issues.

    Multiple examples use the PMIC configuration. Make sure to check the PMIC configuration done by your code and also the SYSCONFIG configuration of board peripherals.

    Thanks,
