AM2432: flashing failure

Hi expert,

Our customer is working on their own AM2432 board, and current HW test is normal. They try to init SoC and download SBL but it fails.

1. They try to download SBL image thru JTAG. Bootmode is OSPI, use Uniflash to download OSPI SBL image in SDK. The error info as below:

2. They try to download SBL Image thru UART. Bootmode is UART. UART can print "C" after power on. They run uart_uniflash.py script. SBL download will stuck at step 2, and cannot complete.

The hardware info as below:

1. MCU: TI AM2432BSEFHIALV
2. Flash: CYPRESS 28HS512TGABHI010, OSPI Flash is same as TI 243 EVM; the layout is quite similar;
3. CCS version 12.8.1
4. Uniflash version 8.7.0
5. JTAG: TI XDS110 Debug Probe

Customer also tries to connect R5 thru CCS, and then load test program it will report error. What’s the possible reason?

We try to set the bootmode as QSPI/XSPI, and the waveform is as below.

Hi,

Does the customer's board have the emmc installed? If not then they will have to disable the MMC in the SBL UART UNIFLASH example.

Hi Meet,

Thank you for your suggestions. We can flash thru UART right now. But uniflash thru JTAG still cannot work. We try to remove MMCSD in sysconfig. There is an error when build.

Then we try to reserve MMCSD, change the Card Type to No Device(which can work in UART Flasher). The build can pass but it will load failed.

Please refer to this: https://software-dl.ti.com/mcu-plus-sdk/esd/AM243X/11_00_00_15/exports/docs/api_guide_am243x/EXAMPLES_DRIVERS_SBL_JTAG_UNIFLASH.html and try to check if JTAG UNIFLASH available in the MCU+SDK works or not.
