TMDS243EVM: Loading each core with project created using different version of SDK and Sysconfig

This is possible. You would need to simply connect to the respective core and load the .out of the core specific project.

 I would precaution on IPC APIs across-SDK-versions (8.x vs 11.x) claims as IPC has changed much over the last 3 years, especially when it involves the A53 Linux cores IPC with the R5/M4 FreeRTOS cores. Would suggest you consult one of the SMEs on IPC.

I agree on the IPC APIs improvement across SDK release.

Shru, before, you go ahead and use AN IPC API from a version v1 vs v2 and combine these two into a single system project, I would have you compare these files to see where the changes/improvements have been done across SDKs.

You can use a simple software to do so, or your IDE should already have this feature to compare.

Best way to do so is comparing the drivers using a software or simply reading the top level improvements via release notes would also help:

So far, I haven't figured out a way to create a systems project with one core on SDK 11 and one core on SDK 8.  They both require different versions of SysConfig and this creates a lot of pre-build errors.   In most cases, SysConfig won't even open. 

Can you please try combining and let me know if its possible?

I understand you are facing this issue.

So, essentially, when you try combining the two applications there is some problem, in this case, compatibility issues if my understanding is correct.

So the end use case is to load an application from SDK x to a core R50 and lets say another from from SDK y to core R51.

Well here is my understanding of the above situation.

I can explain better with the help of a diagram.

Explanation:

The first binary is from another SDK and will contain the logic to work around with the code base which is there on the SDK version x.

The second binary is from another SDK and will contain the logic to work around with the code base which is there on the SDK version y.

This would be a problem if both the version of SDK x and y have even a slight difference in the drivers/code base to be used commonly across the two binaries. Hence, I would suggest you to move forward with a project where you load onto multiple cores from the same SDK version..

Please let me know your thoughts on this.
