MSPM0G1506: LFOSC Error

Part Number: MSPM0G1506

Tool/software:

Hello,

I am considering using the LFOSC on the MSPM0G1506 for a 100ms interval timer.

According to the datasheet, LFOSC accuracy is specified as ±3% (−40℃ to 85℃) and ±5% (−40℃ to 125℃.

In the worst-case scenario, what would be the maximum time error (actual timer period) I should expect for a 100ms timer interval using the LFOSC?

Are there any other important factors besides temperature drift of the LFOSC that I should be aware of when using it for timing applications?

  • Hi,

In the worst case, you should expect 95ms to 105ms for a 100ms timer interval.

I would strongly suggest you to use an external LFXT for timing applications. It would help you get the best timing accuracy in this case.

    Best regards,

    Cash Hao
