AM2432: I2C Rising-time too Long to meet Timing Requirements

Part Number: AM2432

Tool/software:

Hi,

When we measure the I2C1 waveforms on our PCBA, we find the rising time of SCL and SDA is slow so that we cannot use 400kHz.

We removed all slaves on the I2C1 bus, pull up resistor is 3.9k, and below is the SCL waveform we have monitored.

Is there any registers in AM2432 that would have impact on the rising time?

  • Hello Jiaying WU,

    Thank you for the query.

Please expand the waveform, is there a capacitor load connected on the boys?

You could try adjusting the I2C pullup value to reduce the slew.

I2C1 is emulated open drain output type I2C interface. The pullups are expected to be connected with the shortest stubs.

Please share the I2C interface schematics in a PDF form to review.

    Regards,
