Hi All,

Is it possible to improve clock accuracy by inputting CLK_out sourced from LFOSC into FCC?

Best Regards,

Ito

  • Hi Ito,

LFOSC can't be adjusted so there would be no improvement on the LFCLK. The FCC can be used to check accuracy and compensate which would require one of the 2 sources to be accurate.

If you had an HFXT or you used the SYSOSC FCL + External ROSC, you could find some error % of the LFOSC. With SYSOSC being +-1.2% you don't get much advantage over the LFOSC accuracy, but with a accurate external clock you can get better defined accuracy.

FYI - Alternatively on the SYSOSC, you can trim the clock with ROSC to a +- 50kHz, so you can do real time calibration if you had an LFXT.
