MSPM0G3519: Code Composer Studio has become unusable, help!

Part Number: MSPM0G3519
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2651R3SIPA

Tool/software:

I tried to post this is in the Code Composer Studio forum but forcing me to put in a part number disallows a CCS forum post?  Mods:  Please move to CCS forum if you can.

I've been using CCS 20.1.1.8_1.7.1 for several months to build MSPM0G3519 and CC2651R3SIPA launch pad prototype code.  In the past few days, CCS has had a delay in almost every operation, but especially copy and paste operations where it can take several excruciating seconds to paste, essentially making CCS unusable.  I tried googling and searching TI E2E support but nothing is turning up.  Closing CCS and reopening nor rebooting seems to help.  Please help, this is getting really bad!

  • Hi thanks for the question! I am not sure why CCS would be doing this. Can you go to your task manager next time this occurs and see if it is CCS causing the issue? Its hard to debug this since this is something to do with the computer you are using, but any more details you can provide along with verifying CCS during slow operation via the task manager can help us potentially find the underlying cause.

  • Hi sorry it took me so long to get back to you.  My problem resolved by updating CCS from 20.1.1.8_1.7.1 to 20.2.0.12__1.8.0.  Until I just did the update, CCS was becoming almost unusable with its delays.  It wasn't just cut and pastes either.  All functions (e.g. intellisense, etc) were having delays up to a several seconds.  Now CCS is back to highly responsive and usable.
