MSPM0G3519: About ROM based BSL and Flash based Secondary BSL

Hi team,

My customer have some questions about about ROM based BSL and Flash based Secondary BSL,

If we use Software Invoke, only two pins are needed for I2C interface, correct?
For ROM based BSL solution, can we re-configure I2C slave address? What is the default address?
For ROM based BSL with Plug-in interface solution, can we re-configure I2C slave address?
Do you have any data about time for erase/programming 512kB based on ROM based BSL solution?
If we select Flash Based Secondary BSL, do we need to disable ROM based BSL because we use the same I2C interface?

Hi Jerry,

1. Yes, only SDA and SCL pins is needed for I2C interface.

2. The I2C target address is 0x48, by default. It can be configured in BSL Configuration (BSLCONFIG1 of NONMAIN)

3. If Plug-in interface is used, the I2C slave address could be re-configured by software in plugin.

4. For flash erase and program feature, please refer 7.7 Flash Memory Characteristics of MSPM0G351x Mixed-Signal Microcontrollers With CAN-FD Interface datasheet (Rev. A) for details.

5. If secondary BSL is enabled, the default ROM BSL will not be activated. So no worries about it.
