Relationship between makefile and Linker command file (.cmd)

Q:In the makefile, device.cmd is specified, but what is the basis for specifying this?

I understand that the makefile itself is generated automatically.
As long as there is one .cmd file in the project, it will be specified automatically, regardless of its name.
I would like to confirm how .cmd is specified.

Hi O.H.

Are you using a sysconfig enabled project? If you are, SysConfig will generate the linker file for your device. Otherwise you can create your own linker file and select an option in the "Project Configuration" to disable the sysconfig generation. Typically I create a new file and copy paste the SysConfig generation then make my linker file adjustments.

In the makefile the .cmd will be under the ordered_objs.

I understand that XX.cmd is specified in ORDERED_OBJS in the makefile.
What I want to know is, what is the reference/criteria for specifying the XX.cmd file in ORDERED_OBJS?

BTW, Is there a way to manually create a makefile in CCS v20.x or later?
