MSPM0G3507: [Automatic Following System]Motor-drive way selection

Part Number: MSPM0G3507

Tool/software:

We are developing an Automatic Following System(Based on MSPM0G3507) that must reliably track and follow a user walking  on airport or hotel floors.
To implement our system, we need your recommendation on the motor-drive way:
  1. Sensor-based (e.g., Hall or encoder)
  2. Sensorless (FOC)

Thank you for your guidance. We are looking forward to an early response.

  • Hi Iynden,

What your AFS input command to track a user walking, will you continuously give the position of the user walking from maybe a camera?

That looks like a position loop for the motor, which better to use encoder for reliably following.

For hall sensor, its resolution is low, which has 60° for each electrical vectors, I think it little concerning to achieve reliably track.

Sensorless is not recommend to achieve this goal.
