AM263P4-Q1: how much external MUX channel for ADC possible in AM263Px?

Part Number: AM263P4-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AM263P4

Tool/software:

Dear Champs,

Could you please let me know how much external MUX channels for ADC possible in AM263Px (7.5.2.9 AM263Px TRM)?

In datasheet, it seems there are 10 EXTMUX pins available, and then are total 10 external MUX channels are available in AM263P4?

Can this external MUX channel be used in all ADC modules and Resolve ADCs?

Thanks and Best Regards,

SI.

  • Hi SI,

Can this external MUX channel be used in all ADC modules and Resolve ADCs?

    Yes, this is possible.

Few more details for ease of understanding...

    1. ADC's SOCs have these EXTCHSEL bits, in AM263Px these are 2 bits. So, whenever a particular SOC is triggered, these two bits are signaled out from the ADC.
    2. ADCEXTCHXBAR inputs all such signals from ADCs. in AM263Px case, we have 5 ADCs, 2 ADC_Rs and hence there are a total of 14 inputs. the ADCEXTCHXBAR[x] outputs the selected input on the EXTCH_XBAR[x], which when IOMUXed properly, will appear on the corresponding GPIOs.
    3. AM263Px has total 10 channels on SoC. so these can be used to drive the External Analog muxes.
    4. It makes sense, if an ADC is controlling the External Channel Muxes that are connected to its Channels and triggered from the SOCs that configure this ADC Channel.

Let me know if this helps.

    Thanks and regards,

    Madhava
