TMS570LC4357: Debug the code using external debugger of Tms570LC4357 Launchpad

Part Number: TMS570LC4357

Tool/software:

Dear TI Community,

I am attempting to debug code on my TMS570LC4357 LaunchPad using an external XDS110 debugger connected to the J18 header. I would appreciate it if someone could provide guidance on the necessary configurations on the LaunchPad side to enable this debugging setup.

Specifically, I am looking for information on:

  • Any jumpers that need to be moved or removed to isolate the onboard debugger and enable the external XDS110 via J18.

  • Any switches that need to be set for this configuration.

  • How to properly power the TMS570LC4357 MCU when using an external XDS110 debugger connected via J18. Should the LaunchPad still be powered via its micro-USB port, or is there an alternative power input to use in this scenario?

  • Any other hardware modifications or considerations for using an external debugger with J18.

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Regards

Kanak
