AM263P4: Uniflash support J-Link

Are you able to detect the J-Link via CCS?

I believe, you may need a plugin to be installed.

I do not have a debugger which I can check, but let me check internally if someone has used it?

I tried to add a new connection with Segger J-Link Emulator in advanced tab like below but was not able to see AM263PX in the device list to be added.

Could you let me know if what I did is the one you want me to check in ccs? if yes, could you please let me know how I can add the device, AM263Px?

Understood Moonil,

The debugger support for AM263Px was recently added by Segger to probes.

I am not 100% sure, but this might require a software update or plugin to get am263px listed as a detected device by Segger.

Can I ask you to check again with a team working on UNIFLASH in TI about how they confirmed that UNIFLASH supports J-Link? I would like to believe that they have tested the comibation of UNIFLASH and J-Link, and after that, this new feature was presented in TI offical web page.

First, what I want to know is how to make UNILFASH detect J-Link debugger installed.

I appreciated it if you could check this again with your teams or others in TI.

I am also interested in this topic and would like to extend the question to general CCS debugging support.

Feedback for our tools team:

Segger provides the CCS support package, and we just integrate it into CCS and UniFlash. 

We do some sanity testing, but do not test every single combination of J-Link and it’s supported devices. This will need to be handled by Segger themselves, or by the user 

I have recieved the segger probe will try in a day or two and share the observations.

If you could share the verified steps from one of your successful test cases, it would greatly help me adapt the procedure for the "J-Link Base" I am using. I tried with segger and was not successful with it. After checking with segger and our CCS team, I was able to reach to following conclusion:

The latest CCS 20.2.0 comes with J-Link software version 8.34 while AM263x support was added in version 8.38. Hence why AM263 is not appearing for J-Link in CCS/UniFlash. We will pick up a newer J-Link package for the next releases of CCS and UniFlash.

Can I ask the release date your team is planning? If its release date is too far from now on, can we try a way to manually enable this on current version?

Its planned for september end.

I have asked segger team on how to change it manually, but I am yet to recieve a response.
