AM2634: How to read UID/SOC Id for AM2634

Hello TI Team,

We are using AM2634 with custom hardware and we want to read the unique identifier present in each controller i.e. UID/SOC Id but we couldn't find any exact details on how to read it, can you please provide some insight on how to read it.

Hi,

Please use the socID parser python script and print from UART, when SOC is in UART boot mode to get the SOC ID:

Hi,

Instead of checking it through UART then parsing it through python, Is it possible to read it directly through code i.e reading any register to access unique ID.

I should think the answer is a register read of these perhaps...

....but the interpretation is not clear to me.

Hi,

We were also able to find this TOP_CTRL_EFUSE_UID but i think this is not the same as SOCID, do you have any information on how to read SOCID through register access.

Hi TEMC,

Apologies for the delayed response,

Upon clarification with the ROM team internally, the UID sent over UART in UART boot mode is a securely generated UID by HSM ROM(runtime generated based on the assets , i.e Key Provisioned or not provisioned and the TOP_CTRL_EFUSE UIDs)

So it is not possible to read it from a register, as it is runtime-generated.

Another way to read the UID is to do it once SBL loads the HSM RT,

you can call HSM client API to generate the same UID at run time and keep it in OTP or some RAM address.

This way you can read the SOC ID from a ram address.

1.Is it possible to access it without loading HSM RT

2.If not is there any documentation on how to call HSM client API and store it in OTP.

3. And what about EFUSE_UID is it unique for every controller

Yes this is unique to every SoC/controller.
