TMS570LS3137: ECLK Implementation

Part Number: TMS570LS3137
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS1258

Tool/software:

Hi,

In one of our projects, we are using the TMS570LS3137 microcontroller and the ADS1258 external ADC. We encountered some issues with the clock supply for the ADS1258, so we tried generating the clock from the TMS570LS3137 and supplying it to the ADC. We managed to get it working successfully.

Is it a good practice to directly connect the ECLK pin of the TMS570LS3137 to the ADS1258 in production? I read that the ECLK pin is primarily intended for testing purposes. Would it cause any issues if we permanently connect the ECLK pin to the ADS1258 in the production version?

Thank you for your support.

Best Regards.
