MSPM0G1106: can MSPM0G have multi i2c target address in one i2c port?

Hi expert,

My customer use MSPM0G to replace many ic like temperature sensor, fan control,....

in original board, each device has different address.

They don't want to change the host ic fw. Can MSPM0G have multiple i2c address in one i2c port?

So, they can simple change the small module board for all their products.

by the way, I found function below. Can I set 2nd target address? any example to use this function and know the i2c data is from which address?

Hi Frank,

MSPM0G could have the second target address, it is set in TOAR2 register, please refer the corresponding register in TRM.

The second address is set by DL_I2C_setTargetOwnAddressAlternate() API.

If a third address or more target address is needed, the OAR2_MASK field could be used to achieve more target address, by only matching for some of bits set in OAR2 address filed.

from below, mcu knows it's for OAR2.

But if there is more address by using OAR2_MASK, we cannot know the data is for which address, right?

Hi Frank,

You could check which address is matched in below register. This value could also be got from the DL_I2C_getTargetAddressMatch() API.
