AM2632-Q1: On-chip capacitance behavior for the power rails of the AM263x-Q1 family

Part Number: AM2632-Q1

Tool/software:

Hi team - We are attempting to run a power distribution analysis on the the power rails for the AM2632-Q1 (specifically: AM2632COKFHMZCZRQ1) to help optimize our capacitor networks.

We have reviewed the provided AM26x hardware design guidelines and the recommended capacitance, but we are doing our own review as well.

What frequency does the on-chip capacitance take over?

Thanks,

Jacob

  • Hi Jacob,

Thank you very much for doing Power Distribution Analysis. This will very much help in making your system more robust.

We usually consider as a thumb rule for Package+Die capacitance to take over at range of about 50-100MHz. So, our PDN optimizations on the PCB side, end in that range.

    Thanks,
