Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DP83630
Tool/software:
From the compressed file "SPR398.zip", I could get the Board-file LAUNCHXL2_570LC43_RM57L.brd. When I try to open this file in Orcad (PCB Design Professional 17.4 (5036)), I receive the message stating, "ERROR(spmhdb-238): The design is corrupted. It may have been copied from a different architecture using ASCII mode; copy using binary mode."
Would you please send me the uncorrupted Board-file for the Orcad-Design. If you have Altium-based files, I would prefer to receive those files.
My immediate interest is to tap MDIO-lanes so as to connect the MDIO-bus to another PHY (100BASE-T1 PHY). I could not find an easily accessible location on the Launchpad (a component or a pad) on which I could solder wires to tap the MDIO-bus. The other end of the MDIO-bus will be connected to DP83TC812SRHATQ1 (100BASE-T1 PHY) of a different PCB-assembly. In the Launchpad-schematic, I notice that J2-Pin3 is assigned with MDCLK (MIBSPI3NCS_1/MDCLK/N2HET1_25_ and J6-Pin9 is assigned with MDIO (MIBSPI1NCS_2/MDIO/N2HET1_19). Can I tap signals from J2-Pin3 and J6-Pin9 to connect them with the Management Data I/O-ports of DP83TC812S (Pin 1 and Pin 36, respectively)? Are these signals the same as those connected to Pin 31 and Pin 30 of U4 (DP83630) of the Launchpad? Please let me know as to how the MDIO-bus of the Launchpad can be made accessible at J2-Pin3 and J6-Pin 9.
