Hi,

TI EtherCAT Slave solution is using Port1 on PRG1_PRU0_GPI* and Port2 on PRG1_PRU1.

Either Port1 or Port2 can be connected to the Master or upstream side. Correct ?

There is no difference between Port1 and Port2. Correct ?

EtherCAT terminology is IN and OUT port respectively for this. So it has special designation from EtherCAT spec itself. IN port is connected to Main Device side and OUT port is connected to downstream daisy chain slaves.

When EtherCAT cable redundancy then OUT port of the last device is also connected to second redundancy port of EtherCAT Main Device/PLC. During the cable break event and other cases also communication is allowed from OUT port but this is treated special and Main Device status indicates the same...

Thank you for your prompt reply.

Port1 on PRG1_PRU0 should be connected to Main Device side.

Port2 on PRG1_PRU1 should be connected to downstream daisy chain slaves.

Correct ?

I found the description on EtherCAT SubDevice.

If you have multiple devices in chain, please connect from EtherCAT OUT/Port1 to IN/Port0 of next device. For the last device in chain, OUT/Port1 will be left open (if NOT using redundancy mode).
