Since we already use a lot of TI products in our safety systems (PLC, ODS etc.) an we are very satisfied we would like to also try a MCU from TI. Now we are not so sure about what would be the right choice.
Our systems are only used in industrial application and the goal is to replace the MC9S13XEP100 from NXP. Sine we want to use the new MCU for a very long time (20+ years) I think a EP rated product is probably the right choice. We need to achieve SIL3 rating according to IEC61508.
Would the TMS570LC4357-EP be a good choice or should we go for something like the AM263P2/P4 for a new application?
Is there a safety package available for software development (IDE, compiler, driver etc.)?
