We are trying to debug TMS570LC43HDK using FT4232H-56Q mini module as our custom hardware will have FT4232H IC for JTAG debugging. We are able to successfully connect JTAG using OpenOCD libraries and able to read and write in internal SRAM through telnet, gdb. When we tried to connect FT4232H-56Q mini module channel A JTAG pins to Arm 20 pin JTAG connector of TMS570LC43HDK to simulate XDS100v2 using CCS,we are getting the following error

The value is '-183' (0xffffff49) The title is 'SC_ERR_CTL_CBL_BREAK_FAR'. Kindly provide a solution to resolve the problem.

PS:- We have programmed the EEPROM of FT4232H-56Q mini module to configure the channel A as debug port using XDS100v2 configuration XML file.

Hi Deepak,

TMS570 HDK supports both on-board XDS100V2 emulator and an external JTAG emulator via a 20-pin ARM JTAG header. The pin 8 of 20-pin JTAG header is used to select which one will be used. The pin 8 is pulled HIGH on HDK, and it should be pulled LOW to select the external emulator.

TMS570 HDK uses FT2232H for XDS100V2. The main difference between FT4232H and FT2232H is that the FT4232H has 4 USB-serial (JTAG, SPI, etc) channels and FT2232H has 2 USB-serial channels. You can use the same XDS100V2 JTAG driver in CCS and Uniflash.

Hello jagadish,

I have tried using FT2232H xml to configure FT4232H mini module to mimic like FT2232H, if this is not done then ccs will throw some other error saying FTDI driver problem. After doing all this, atleast I went forward by getting "The value is '-183' (0xffffff49) The title is 'SC_ERR_CTL_CBL_BREAK_FAR' " error

This error means the JTAG debugger is sending data to the device via the TDI pin but is not receiving anything back on the TDO pin. To me it seems like a connection issue on the board.
