To TI Support Team:

Hello;
We are one of your authorized distributors (Mouser) and so have a customer who ordered
20pcs of this obsolete TI high-temperature rated ARM MCU p/n SM470R1B1MHKPS way back on
10/27/2023 and they state its Date code is expired and that the part is defective (Invoice#
76259770, Mouser PO# 029-6G204, Lot code 0000926MTT, Date code 1929 in YYWW). We are
currently asking the customer to provide a topside image of one of their parts and to give
more detail about the issue. We need to know if you have heard any failures with this Lot
code or issues with expired date codes on this part number (?).

Can you help us with this? Can you please email the answer to me at dan.rapp@mouser.com?

Thanks,
(Mouser Service Order# 425731)

  • In addition to the above query, the customer followed up with a part image and answers to the below questions.

    1.  Are all 20pcs defective?  If not, then how many?

    More likely as we can not take chance of replacing the chip on existing board and end up damaging it that would cost $20K

    2. Please describe claim that Date code is expired.

    Date code has not expired but the batch of date code 1928A is bad.

    3. Please provide detail regarding defective claim -- how are they bad?

    PC Boards with SM470  batch 1928A chips flash memory would not program.
