Hi，TI experts：

        we plan to use the Profinet protocol of AM2434 for the servo drive solution. I have the following questions that I would like to consult:

(1).When is the Profinet solution for AM2434 planned to support the MRPD function?This function is frequently used by customers.

(2).Does TI have a plan to support the PROFIdrive  application layer solution?

     e.g: PROFIdrive Standard telegram:  telegram 1 /telegram 3/telegram 5/telegram 7/telegram 9

           Siemenz telegram : telegram 102 /telegram 105/ telegram 110/telegram 111

(3).PROFINET has introduced PN security levels 1-3 in accordance with IEC62443. Does the protocol stack of AM243x meet these requirements? If not, is there a follow-up plan?

    Siemens has already planned to comply with this standard.Therefore, our product plan must also conform to this standard.

If possible, we would appreciate it if you could provide a specific schedule for the implementation.

    This is part of roadmap.

    Yes, this is part of our roadmap, but we rely on Siemens stack support availability to enable this. HW wise AM243 can meet Class3 requirements based on our assessment.

    Can TI obtain the support for this function from Siemens' stack? Can you make this clear? If Siemens does not open up externally, won't it be unable to function properly?

    I suggest discussing this with TI field support team of your company on the specifics. We are not aware of any such plans from Siemens to not open up and early security features are getting merged to Profinet community stack already.

    Hi:

      I have a question for your help about IRT mode as the following:

      I am currently testing the Profinet IRT mode on the AM2434-LP hardware platform with ind_comms_sdk_am243x_11_00_00_12 sdk  using Siemens' S7-1500. 

      I added a variable increment by 1 in the PN_APP_IOD_cbDataWrite() of the am2434 profinet code, and then monitored this variable in TIA Portal. However, I found an abnormal waveform as the following:

    It was discovered that for a period of time, the S7-1500 did not receive the data sent by AM2434.

    and the jitter  in the data received by the S7-1500 is relatively large.

    Have you conducted any tests for the IRT mode? Do you have any specific test instructions documents?

    Please help.

    Hi Tan Bao,

    Regarding the IRT tests, we have ran PROFINET IRT conformance tests(SPIRTA) and all tests have passed. 

    I would like to understand more on the issue you are observing.

    • Are you mentioning that the IO frames sent by the device does not reach the Siemens PLC? 
      • Based on the counter value logged in TIA portal, the difference seems to be very high 17 frames (16636 - 16619). Most likely if the PLC does not receive the frames then the AR should be aborted. Do you observe this?
    • Regarding the jitter issue, are you referring to the time difference between reception of two PPM frame? Currently it looks like the delta time is around 5 us.
      • Do you see the same jitter in the wireshark captures too?

    We will test out the behavior of AM243x-LP on our side and provide an update.

    Note: The Industrial Comms SDK 11.00.00.12 is an early access package which is not tested on AM243x-LP. We are planning to officially add support for PROFINET on AM243x-LP by November in our upcoming release.
