AM2612: Moving CCS Project Folder to Another PC

Hi Hideaki,

These settings should be stored in the .ccsproject, .cproject, and .project files. Can you verify if these were moved properly? Also, is the file paths identical between the 2 computers? You may need to check the include path dependencies to ensure all included paths are existent on the new computer

Thank you for your reply.

They were able to compiled the moved project by reconfiguring the folder manually. However, if they copy the folder and open it in the CCS, the configuration information was lost.

When they checked the XML format of .cproject file, the include path was saved as '..\Souce\xx '.
However, when they copy the entire folder and open the folder in CCS, it seems that the .cprojec file is not set well.

Could you please tell them how to apply it in detail ?

Hi Hideaki,

There is an export project option when right clicking the project, can the customer use that? To make the project as portable as possible, it's recommended to use relative paths instead of absolute paths. I think there is an option in the project export to pull in linked files

They're using CCS 20.2.0 Theia. Does it support an export project ? Could you tell the customer how to export the project ?

They can find "Export" menu when right clicking the project.

Oh thank you for clarifying the CCS version. Please see this link for more information about the makeup of the workspace in difference CCS versions: https://dev.ti.com/tirex/content/code_composer_studio%E2%84%A2_academy_2_20_10_01/_build_code_composer_studio%E2%84%A2_academy_2_20_10_01/source/gs/migration/sub-migration/m1-general_and_ide.html#workspaces it seems the recommendation now is to directly zip and move the project folder, which you said the customer has already tried. Please make sure to also transport the workspace settings as well as copying over the cache data which you can find in below files

• [USER HOME]\AppData\Local\Texas Instruments\CCS\.ccs-server
• [USER HOME]\AppData\Local\Texas Instruments\CCS\[CCS INSTALL FOLDER NAME]
