LP-MSPM0G3507: Replace with MSPM0G3518SPMR

Part Number: LP-MSPM0G3507
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSPM0G3518, LP-MSPM0G3519, , MSPM0G3507

Tool/software:

Hello Team,

I'm looking for an evaluation board to evaluate the MSPM0G3518 in the LQFP64 package.
The only evaluation board you sell is the LP-MSPM0G3519, which features the MSPM0G3519SPZR in the LQFP100 package.
I'm considering replacing the MSPM0G3507SPM mounted on the LP-MSPM0G3507 with the MSPM0G3518SPMR for evaluation.
I have a few questions:
1. Is it possible to replace the MSPM0G3507SPM mounted on the LP-MSPM0G3507 with the MSPM0G3518SPMR for evaluation?
2. Will the Debugger on the LP-MSPM0G3507 operate correctly when replaced with the MSPM0G3518SPMR?

Best regards,

Mineichi Saito

  • Hi Mineichi,

The answer to both of your questions is yes - MSPM0 devices are designed to be pin to pin compatible in the same package. You can order the LP-MSPM0G3507, and some MSPM0G3518SPMR ICs, and swap the MSPM0G3507 out for the MSPM0G3518. When you swap them, just make sure that your debugger settings show that the target device is now an MSPM0G3518.
